We already know about the OSI model. Now, let's go to TCP/IP model. In TCP/IP model you will learn about different TCP/IP layers, their functions how TCP/IP encapsulates and decapsulates.( which actually aren't that much different than OSI model) Once you've understood the OSI model, you won't have any problem to understand TCP/IP model!!!π
WHAT IS TCP/IP MODEL ?
TCP/IP or Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol is a suite of communication protocols used to interconnect network devices on the internet. TCP/IP can also be used as a communications protocol in a private computer network . TCP/IP model was created back in the early 1970s and is sometimes referred to as the internet model. The TCP/IP model is a protocol model because it describes the functions that occur at each layer of protocols within the TCP/IP suite. TCP/IP is also used as a reference model.
